On Saturday, October 2nd, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the 3rd Annual MARKETPLACE AND MINISTRIES FAIR will be held at Mission Central, located at 5 Pleasant View Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. It will be a unique combination of an indoor yard sale, a mission/ministries fair, and a health fair, with live entertainment, a “Kids’ Korner”, food, and more!
Anyone may rent a yard sale space for $10. All proceeds from rent will be donated to Mission Central. No fee will be charged to mission organizations or ministries who reserve a space to promote their work. Everyone who visits the ministry displays will have the opportunity to win great door prizes.
There will be food stands selling hot dogs, popcorn, pastries, coffee, cold beverages, and more.
Music by “This Way Up”, “Pocket Change”, and “Water’s Edge” will fill the air while people come and go.
Kids’ Korner will have face painting, balloon animals, a candy dive, and a puppet show. All activities in the children’s area will be FREE!
A Health Fair is planned to provide information for the public. Influenza vaccines will be offered at a cost. Meet representatives from several Senior Care agencies.Get your blood pressure checked for FREE. The Central Pennsylvania Bloodmobile will be on site, so please consider giving blood.
“The Great VBS and Sunday School Curriculum Exchange” will be in the main hall. Lots of curriculum has been donated to the warehouse, and individuals will be able to choose materials, FREE of charge, to take back to their churches.
Parking will be available in the lot next door, but parking for the physically disabled will be provided in the Mission Central parking lot.

On Saturday, September 25th, from 1-3 p.m., Mission Central, located at 5 Pleasant View Drive, Mechanicsburg, will host the third in a series entitled, “Missions Near and Far”.
The program will begin with a presentation by Ginny Jones, Executive Director of New Digs Ministry, housed at Mission Central. Ginny, the founder of New Digs, says that its mission is “to assist families in need by providing gently used furniture and household goods to help make their house a home.”
From 1:45-2:15 p.m., warehouse tours will be available; refreshments will be served; and door prizes will be drawn.
The second presentation will be given by a representative of United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM), a short-term mission agency of the United Methodist Church. UMVIM exists to promote, encourage, and enable Christians to exemplify “Christian Love In Action” through short-term mission service in the United States and abroad
There is no charge for this event. Donations can be made to the organizations that are featured. Checks should be made payable to: New Digs Ministry, Inc., or if making a contribution to UMVIM, write the check to: Susquehanna Conference with “UMVIM” on the memo line. Registration is not required unless you are bringing a group of 5 or more people.
